The Advantage of Tandem Shooting.

As a Photographer there will be a time that you need to shoot with other people. Just like going to a Hairdresser or Tailor you need to find someone that suits you (ideally speaking lol).
I happened to find one tandem shooting partner who not only knows my shooting rhythm, but also have similar shooting speed and super easy to work with
Pierre and I knew each other going back nine years ago, but we only started doing a shoot together in 2013 when we work together for the third times and he is my favorite so far, we have different style of shooting but similar vision and speed and sometimes could have a similar result.

Here is some shot that I did with Pierre:

One of our first shoot, same pose different angle.

I normally shoot with wider frame while Pierre love to shoot close ups.

Pierre is a tall dude so he usually shoots in upper level while I'm the shortie normally shoot in lower level, He could literally stand behind me and we both having a clear frame lol.

The similar interpretation of SEXY hahahah
for some reason I like the way he shot female model and vice versa.

Now tell me in which photo those eyes look more stunning????

Bottom line is you might not find a perfect shooting partner, sometimes you might get a detail oriented person who spent five minutes just for one pose or bossy prick who bosses you around, pose-block you or ruin your frame by talking with your model, you just have to suck it and be smart.

Shooting with Pierre has been always pleasant and I got the advantage of tandem shooting : extra pair of eyes, extra great frames, extra ideas and of course fun time.
Unfortunately Pierre and I work in separate places now he is in Canada, US, Mexico and Australia while I'll be in Indonesia, Japan and South Korea.
If you are in one of those countries

Beijing Fever

As I have gone through my old archive I stumbled on some earlier work of mine, I took these photos when I was studying in Beijing in 2005, I'm quite surprised of how much I remember about these photos, just playing in my head like a short movie lol.

This was my inspiration board, I remembered I used to change the photos almost everyday plus some notes(silly notes from my housemates or homework lol) but I guess this was the last  arrangement until I moved back to Jakarta.

I placed this board across my bed so that was the 1st thing I saw when I wake up, used to make me so excited to start my day (of course with the help of a can of Nescafe and a few puffs of Marlboro Red but 50% was the board lol).

Ok, so this was my feet (heloooooo) I took this one while waiting for me turned in my Kou Yu (conversation) test, was kinda nervous because my partner was late :D

Ahhh yessss, this one was taken on the North Gate of my University, it was mid August and the hot summer Beijing was so unforgiving, my roommate and I weren't able to sleep so we took a stroll on a hot summer night.

The famous "the old man and the bike",  a group of friends and I went to Long Qing Xia(Long Qing Gorge)56 miles Northwest of Beijing for a long weekend, he passes in front of me while I was waiting for my roommate, gave me a nod and smile as he passed by.

My Flip Flop my savior lol, days of August in Beijing could be mean sometimes, so hot and no winds, this pair of flip flop is so comfy to walk when it's impossible to wear shoes, it's only ¥10 and it last forever hahahahaha.....

Just like the title of this photo "I'll keep you warm", that was the current mood at the time I took this photo, it was winter and it was my turn to do laundry (of course it's my favorite activity...notttt) as I folded the sweaters I saw sunlight went through the laundry room, I ran to my room and took my camera then heyoooo this photo was snapped.

This is Marthalia one of my good friends during my study, I used to call her Sharky because behind that smile and gracefulness there is a shark that ready to bite hahahahahahah (love you Sharky), it was Autumn we were walking around our campus after class, she picked up this brown leaf and I told her freeze and give me Smize lol

Yours truly circa 2005, with my Nikon Coolpix 950 trying to be a professional Photographer :P

So on this last photo are the crew of South Building,3rd floor #5 haha :p.
Left to right me, Mina and Vicky, I haven't seen these two guys for such a long time, Mina moved to Sweden with her hubby and two boys, Vicky is in the awesome island of Bali, was so much fun in that tiny flat with our next door vicino (neighbor) Stefano and our friend Johan from the next door dorm, lots of laugh and black outs nights and hungover brunch happened.
Fun times....!

Back in Business

So this is my new blog since my RedAppleGarden account has been deleted, just like the name this account will tell the story behind all photos that I took.
